Licence check details.

To start driving lessons your need a valid provisional driving licence obtained via the DVLA.  Prior to starting 'in car' driving lessons your provisional licence must be checked, to confirm that you are legal and allowed to drive on the road. Please see the GOV.UK website for the essential criteria.

The check will require you to access the DVSA website to obtain a code which allows your instructor to view the validity of your provisional licence.

To obtain this code you will require the following items .

  • Your provisional driving licence number.
  • Your National Insurance number.
  • The postcode on your provisional driving licence.

Once you have this code, you can provide this and your provisional driving licence details to an instructor, who will access the DVSA system to confirm it is a valid licence.

This check needs to be carried out prior to any 'in car' driving sessions.

Please use the below QR code to go directly to the DVSA page to obtain a check code.
